The packaging is slick, compact and elegant as per usual–it’s the kind of lipstick that you’d always want to keep in the purse, and reapply throughout the day without the need of a mirror.
I’ve completely fallen in love with sheer lipstick formulas lately, which was obviously inspired by the well-loved Nars Dolce Vita
lipstick that I’ve been talking about constantly on this blog. To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of ‘barely there’ sort of finishes just about a few months ago, but it seems like tastes and views change over time. Since I’ve been using the Dolce Vita more frequently, I’ve realized that I have another sheer lipstick hiding in the stash- the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Aventure #57
,which I picked up at the Duty Free (can’t leave it without buying something!)
I absolutely adore the formula of the Coco Shine range–in terms of texture, it glides on smoothly like a hydrating balm, providing a beautiful natural shiny finish that is light-weight and non-sticky; however, the glossy effect fades over time (which is expected, since it’s not a matte lipstick) but the pigment stays put. In terms of pigmentation, it gives a nice sheer wash of color–nothing more, nothing less–which will appear slightly different on everyone depending on the pigmentation of your lips.
is a sheer warm pink shade with golden shimmers; it is my ‘go to’ lipstick that I can pretty much pull off with any makeup look, or whenever I’m not completely sure what lipstick to wear.
