I’ve realized that I haven’t been using Mac products as much as I’d like to simply because I have given most of them away, so I thought I should place an order of things I had wanted for the longest time. I got a few cool things worth mentioning in the post, but I wanted to dedicate this one specifically to the Face&Body foundation and the Lustre Drops highlighter.
You know when I mentioned previously that Mac foundations tend to cause breakouts on my skin, at the time I haven’t yet tried the Mac Face&Body
foundation which is absolutely amazing. Unlike other Mac foundations that can look rather cakey and seem to dry out my already dehydrated skin, this one is super lightweight and natural-looking. It makes the skin appear radiant and dewy which is what we all (dry skin type gals) want during the colder months. It is a light textured, water-based foundation that gives a sheer to medium coverage, but is definitely build-able; however in my perspective, it works best for those with relatively good skin who don’t expect a lot of coverage from a foundation and just use it for evening out the skin tone.
I have been using the Mac Lustre Drops
for the past two years now and was really upset to hear the news that Mac was going to discontinue this product. You can apply it in a number of ways-either accentuate the features you’d like ( forehead, cheekbones, bridge of the nose, highbrow area, etc.), or mix it up with your foundation to achieve a dewy finish. Personally, I love applying it on top of my foundation, especially under the eyes- its light-reflective pigments help to minimize the appearance of dark circles and under eye lines which I’ve had ever since I was born. It works really well with the Face & Body foundation since both of these products are water-based.
If you’d like to see how these two products work together, I’d suggest to watch the ‘Get Ready With Me’ video, which I filmed yesterday. Hope you enjoy watching!
