KOREAN SKINCARE STAPLES

June 29, 2017

Koreans know what they are doing when it comes to beauty.  The intricate 10-step Korean skin care routine promises to give you a flawless, poreless, radiant complexion, which can seem daunting to some. So if you’ve been wondering, like me, whether to incorporate some Korean skin care products into your routine, I’d recommend starting with these ones.

  1. LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask with Berry  – £17.50/ $25

I’ve almost given up on lip balms as my lips were always dry and flaky until I tried this one from Laneige. This is some magical, cosmic beauty product that will give your lips the TLC it needs from all the matte liquid lipsticks you’ve been probably obsessing over lately. In some magical way, it works! It contains a mix of moisturizing and nourishing ingredients including shea butter, murumuru seed butter, glycerin, arabica coffee extract, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, Vitamin C, blueberry extract etc. If you leave it on overnight, your lips will be soft, supple and smooth by the next morning.

2. BANILA CO. Clean It Zero Purity for Sensitive Skin – £20/ $25

If you want a clear, blemish-free skin, you’d want to incorporate double cleansing into your routine. It’s something I’ve learned by reading Caroline Hirons blog, and I’m so glad I did because I stopped getting occasional breakouts from not properly cleansing my skin from makeup and grime. This particular balm cleanser is good for those with extra sensitive skin because it is free from artificial fragrance and coloring, alcohol, parabens, and mineral oil. I haven’t experienced any reaction to it whatsoever. The solid balm transforms into a silky on the skin and cleanses skin effectively without drying it out. Love it!

3. TONY MOLY Magic Food Banana Hand Milk – £9.50/ $9.99

Tony Moly packaging is so fun and playful, I can’t handle the cuteness. This banana shaped hand milk smells so delicious like a banana ice cream, it’s hard to resist not to eat it – although I strongly recommend not to. It’s lightweight in texture and non-greasy, dries quickly and hydrates effectively. Definitely worth a try!

  • These sound like really great buys

I love the Banila Clean it Zero! I don’t think there’s another cleanser out there that’s as effective for removing makeup. The Banana hand milk looks super cute…might need to look for that during my NYC trip next week!

  • I really want to try out some Korean Skincare bits, these three products sound like they work wonders on the skin. I really like the cute packaging the Banana Hand Milk has!! Sounds like it smells fab and I really like how it isn’t greasy feeling.. I hate when hand creams make you want to wash your hands after you use them
